This last Friday the 6th Highlands Ranch Carnival came to town. It is located on the Mountain Vista Highschool parking loot on the west side of town. The carnival is hosted by the Highlands Ranch Community Association. If you (or your kids) decide to use a lot of rides, make sure to buy an unlimited pass. The unlimited pass can be purchased for $20.00 at the HRCA rec centers or you can purchase it at the gates of the carnival for $25.00.

We went on Friday night and it was very pleasant – even though it was very windy up until 9.00 PM. Winds finally started to calm down at around 9.00 PM and so the kids had more fun. Only 2 rides were paused due to the high wind speeds. The main ride attraction (Skymaster) opened up for rides at around 9.30 PM. It was also pleasant in regards to the temperatures and it was not very crowded either. This resulted in pretty much “no wait times” for the kids at any of the different rides.

The Highlands Ranch Carnival is a mix of ride attractions, games, and of course carnival style food (popcorn, funnel cakes, caramel apples, etc.). When we went we were able to concentrate the kids on the ride attractions and less on the food or games (games cost extra and usually ran about $5.00).

The visiting parents were rewarded with a nice sunset and nice views at the city. Here are the pictures that I took that evening.
