Tax Season is upon us. AboutHighlandsRanch has looked at a few tax efile related options and services and provides you with helpful information if you are planning to file your taxes online this year.

Last but not least I was able to secure another interview with a candidate for this upcoming Douglas County School Board election. Fred Wucherpfennig was kind enough to reply to my interview request and provided some insight into what his plans are.

I was studying my ballot for the 2007 election the other night. I saw a name on the ballot that I had seen on election related street signs before. Some additional research lead me to the homepage of Ryan Stuart who is one of the candidates for the Douglas County School Board in District A.

Christopher Condie is one of the candidates for the Douglas County School Board in District A. While doing research for my own ballot I ran into Christopher’s website and found it interesting enough to send him a couple of questions.

Election Day 2007 is upon us. Douglas County has published voting related information that will affect residents of Highlands Ranch big time. We reviewed the ballot items.

If you are a homeowner in Highlands Ranch you most likely received the tax valuation of your home. If you did, you most likely noticed a steep increase in the valuation of your house and therefore an increase in the estimated tax rate. Personally I do think this is not correct. Market values are stagnating and house sales prices are either flat or decreasing, but not increasing. High inventory of home builders, high number of foreclosures, and rising interest rates in 2006 are not really ingredients that make for rising home prices.

The Douglas County Sheriff's office offers many resources to the citizens of Douglas County and Highlands Ranch.
