Wal-Mart in Highlands Ranch

Even before this recession hit, Wal-Mart was a big part of Highlands Ranch. However, with the renovation and upgrade to a Wal-Mart Super Center, Wal-Mart has been irreplaceable in Highlands Ranch. Wal-Mart is located near Quebec and C-470 – right next to the Palomino Apartments. No matter what time you show up there, Wal-Mart is always a busy place. I shop at Wal-Mart for certain products only and mix it with shopping at Costco and shopping at King Soopers or Sunflower Market.

WalMart does not carry all the products I want and certain products I would never buy there. As an example the meat at Wal-Mart is not something I would buy. The quality is just not what I expect it to be – no matter how shiny the packaging or is or how low the price is. I buy all my meats at Costco – high quality and great prices.

Wal-Mart in Highlands Ranch offers a lot of food and non-food products. The staff at least from my experience is very friendly. Prices are fair or good for many products, but don’t buy without comparing. Some products are cheaper somewhere else. You also need to check your receipt – several times I found items more expensive upon checkout than shown on the price label. I then had to go to the customer service desk to get it corrected. Example: I bought the Ice Age 3 movie – advertised as $14.96 and I was charged $19.96 at the cash register. They apologized for the mistake, but still this reminds of being more price aware and to check my receipt.

Overall I like shopping at Wal-Mart. It helps to keep a little more money in my pocket.
