Restaurant Review: Lansdowne Arms Highlands Ranch
We meant to write a review about this restaurant quite a while ago, but had to put it on the backburner as it never worked out that we went out for dinner and drinks at “Lansdowne Arms” in Highlands Ranch. What a mistake. We should have gone much earlier. Last weekend we finally made it to dinner at Lansdowne Arms. The restaurant is easy to find. Just go to downtown Highlands Ranch and the most popular place is where you want to go. ;-). The outside patio will show you the way. You can either sit on the street level or go up to the roof level patio.
It does not matter if you go just for drinks or for dinner – the service is great. We were friendly greeted at the door. As we should up with our 2 year old son, we were asked about special needs for the little one (highchair or booster / kids menu) and then we were walked to a table inside (our preference for that evening). The dining area is a little in back which is nice because it is away from the more busy bar area. Our waitress was very friendly and took care of us quickly. The menu is very openly structured and meals can easily be compared. We had a hard time picking our meals. Everything sounded great, but there is only so much you can eat. We both settled for the Fisherman’s Pie and some fried fish & fries for the little one. My wife decided to try the bar and we ordered a Mojito. Great choice. You could tell the bartender knows how to mix drinks. Our meals arrived in a good time after placing the order. I’d say it was a semi-busy time for Lansdowne Arms and so for means that means an average / above average time. The meals were served hot and we could see that they were really made from fresh ingredients.
I initially thought that the Fisherman’s Pie was great, when I noticed how many fries my little son was eating. He is a very picky eater since he was born. He had a meal before we left home and we did not really expect him to eat. He was munching down those fries like there would no tomorrow. We tried the fries and they were awesome. Not your typical restaurant fries. Very tasty and not too greasy. We also tried the fried fish and that was very good, too. So, the next time I might have to try something with fries and fish. But the menu has quite a few things to offer. So, we will be back not too far out to enjoy some other great food.
Prices are reasonable for the area. Our tab came to $38.xx + tip. Not bad for 3 meals, two lemonades and a Mojito. The other prices on the menu looked reasonable to us.
Conclusion: I have to say we made a mistake to wait so long before finally visiting the Lansdowne Arms restaurant in Highlands Ranch. If you look at my review of the OBL (Old Blinking Light) you can see that I can be very picky about the quality of a restaurant. With the Lansdowne Arms restaurant I do not have any reason to complain. We had a great dining experience and we will come back for sure. I think the restaurant is a great addition to the Highlands Ranch Town Center. So, if you are looking for a great dining experience, please try the Lansdowne Arms restaurant.
PS: This is not a sponsored review, but rather based on my personal dining experience from 5/27/2007.
