Update 7/5/2010: Fireworks rescheduled to 9.30 PM tonight

Update 8.15 PM: 4th of July Fireworks in Highlands Ranch is still happening according to HRCA. This might change depending on weather conditions.

Are you ready for your 4th of July Fireworks show in Highlands Ranch? I am and I am looking forward to this 4th of July. The Highlands Ranch Community Association has put in a lot of effort to make this Sunday a great one for sure. So, here is the schedule for the Highlands Ranch Fireworks Show and the overall festivities for the fourth of July 2010.

8.30 AM – HRCA Independence Day 5K Run/Walk
Start Independence Day off with some exercise which is actually a lot of fun. Temperatures will be very nice at this time of the day. Registration starts at 7.30 AM and the Run/Walk starts at 8.30 AM.

8.30 AM – Children’s Bike & Pet Parade
What a great way to get the little ones involved. Have your child walk the family pet or ride the bike. Lots of fun for kids and parents.

9.00 AM – 9.00 PM – July 4th Celebration & Festivities
Head out to the Highlands Ranch Town Center and enjoy entertainment for all ages. Balloon Twisters, Face Painters, Vern’s Mini Train, Hayrack Rides, Games & Inflatables, Eurobungee and Live Music! There will be plenty of food and drinks, too.

10.00 AM – 2.00 PM – Farmers Market

Festivities Stage Entertainment:

11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Reville 3- Andrews Sisters Tribute Band
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – The Tattered Covers
3:30 p.m. – Hot Dog Eating Contest (Sponsored by Bernie’s Hot Dogs)
6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – Deja Blu

12.00 PM – 4.00 PM – Independence Day Pet Adoption Fair
Local shelters will be on site. Adopt a pet, make a new friend.

Highlands Ranch Fireworks
The Highlands Ranch Fireworks Display will start at an approximate time of  9:30 pm

Fireworks location: Directly across from Town Center, at the intersection of Highlands Ranch Parkway & Blake Dr. Highlands Ranch Town Center, and Civic Green Park are great locations to watch the show. If you are coming by car you might have to arrive early for the show to get a good parking spot.

It’s raining, old and miserable outside. For Pete’s sake, cant they postpone the fireworks until we can actually enjoy them?

Richard, – I agree the weather was miserable. However, in the distance I was able to see the Littleton and the Englewood fireworks. I wonder why HRCA did not start the fireworks around 9.40 PM – the rain was down to very little?! Also, there was no update to the website nor on their Twitter account. It would have been so easy to update twitter from any smartphone or Blackberry. I did check while I was waiting several times. Disappointing!!!
