Job Description: Senior Systems Engineer-UNIX
* Responsible for the maintenance of 24x7 mission critical UNIX systems and
services
* Perform the configuration, installation and day to day maintenance of UNIX
system environment
* Plan and perform upgrades to current servers and storage environment
* 8 years experience with UNIX systems admin, Network, and Systems
Integration.
* Especially strong background, understanding of enterprise storage
solutions is required
* Strong scripting and/or programming experience required.
* Strong performance and tuning understanding and abilities
* Familiar with load-balancing solutions, volume management, HA
implementations, routers and switches, web application servers, databases
* Provides overall direction, guidance and definition of an enterprise's
architecture to effectively support the corporate business strategy
* Responsibilities include researching, analyzing, and designing, proposing
and delivering solutions that are appropriate for the business and
technology strategies
* Must have significant business knowledge and have one or more areas of
technical experience in which they concentrate
* Interfaces across several business areas, acting as visionary to
proactively assist in defining the direction for future projects
* Responsible for conception of solutions, building consensus and the
selling and execution of such solutions
* Provide support to solve storage requirements for existing and new systems
Qualifications: * 8 years or more UNIX system administration,
and architect design experience
* Expert knowledge on HPUX 11.x and Red Hat Linux
* Knowledge on Solaris, AIX, SCO, VMWare ESX and Virtual Center, SAN
environments, Veritas Netbackup, Tivoli Storage Manager
* Experience with Oracle RDBMS, SAN/McData, TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, RAID
Technology, Fibre channel, Veritas Volume Manager, Architecture design and
implementation, backup and recovery admin, utilizing standards, change
management
