Job Description
(The FAST engineers are responsible for providing managerial and technical support to Direct and Indirect Channels. Responsibilities include directing the technical efforts of
Technician Services field personnel, marketing, provisioning and maintenance escalations across the entire Avaya product line. Additionally, they direct the technical efforts of others and
provide on-site managerial leadership, consultation, technical training, and documentation validation, to ensure successful pre-sales and post-sales support. FAST engineers are responsible for interfacing with internal and external decision-makers, technical departments and vendors. They act as an extension of Avaya Labs by interactively providing accurate test data to ensure root cause analysis and design improvements. On site support of beta and controlled introductions of new products also falls under the umbrella of a FAST engineer. They direct and influence individuals not under incumbents' direct control. A FAST engineer develops and delivers technical applications and training modules for services.
In all cases, they provide leadership from the equipment room to the boardroom as Avaya's ranking on-site technical manager. FAST Engineers should possess at a minimum the following requirements and skills: Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Must interact with all levels of management internally and externally. Serve as an expert in specialized areas while maintaining a broad overall knowledge of all products. Must have the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple day to day activities. Must be able to build, maintain and lead productive and effective "customer/supplier" relationships. Must have excellent communications skills • Requires a high degree of interpersonal skills. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in computer science, telecommunications or engineering. Minimum of 7+ years of related work experience and a well-balanced background of telecommunications business, human resource management and technical experience. GTS720
