Business Review: Snip-its – Haircuts for Kids
It was time for a haircut for my son and my wife told me about this place called “Snip-its”. It’s a barber shop for kids so to speak. Well, barber shop might be the wrong wording. Snip-its is a haircutter for kids. If you know kids you will know how difficult it can be to get them to sit still for a haircut. The last haircut my son got it apparently was an ordeal. So, we went to Snip-its in Highlands Ranch to get him a haircut. Snip-its is located in the shopping area at University and Highlands Ranch Parkway. The store is right next to T.J. Max. The store only accepts walk-ins. We got lucky and were the only customers on this Saturday afternoon.
We were greeted very friendly and my son was placed in a chair for his haircut in no-time. A movie was turned on from a computer screen in a corner of the booth where we were located. Comfy chairs were provided for us parents. The basic ingredients for a haircut were in place. We were asked for our preferences for the haircut and then the “show” started. My son was kind of “busy” watching the movie and so the haircut went along pretty well. Certain parts of the process interrupted the movie, but my son held still. In the end the haircut experience was very positive.
Snip-its stores are a franchised business. The stores are designed to appeal to kids of any age. Toys, cookies, lollipops, and other items are provided as needed. Each kid receives a keycard type of card when entering the store. These cards are used to “draw” a good-bye present upon leaving. The store offers add-on hair care products for any type of “need”. The personnel seems to be trained for the different kind of situations. Not always will this work and the little one might refuse to get a haircut, but overall the best possible options seems to be in place. Every 9th visit will be free if you use the “Snip-its Adventure Club Card” on checkout at the cash register. Every visit is marked on these little cards so that you can keep track of everything.
For us it turned out to be a very pleasant experience this afternoon. Therefore I can only recommend to give Snip-its a try for your kid’s haircut.
