ABRA Highlands Ranch – Two Thumbs Down
I prefer to write positive business reviews, but sometimes a business does not give you a choice other than writing a negative review. This time ABRA Auto Body & Glass in Highlands Ranch did not give me a chance other than writing this review. I have been an ABRA Highlands Ranch customer since 2006. The first time around they did a great job and I already wrote about it. In the middle of December my Jeep Grand Cherokee was rear-ended in an accident and occurred minor damage to the rear bumper. The overall cost estimate to fix this came back as ~$700.00 and the verbal word was that this should be a 2 day repair job. Since I had used Abra before I decided to give them my business again. The first surprise was a 5 week waiting period for the next available appointment. No big deal since my vehicle was drivable.
Last Monday I finally dropped off my car for repair in the expectation that even if this would take more time than initially anticipated, that I should have my car back at the end of the week. I guess that was very optimistic. Wednesday I called to get a status update and I am still shocked. I was told that it would most likely be the middle of the following week before this would be done. They had not even touched my car to start working on it. The only thing done so far was that they did order the replacement bumper
As a paying customer I feel completely disappointed and mislead by ABRA Auto Body in Highlands Ranch. What kind of business practice is it to hand out appointments and then still to overbook so that everything gets delayed?! This is very bad customer service and it also shows no respect to the insurance company who has to pay 10 days for a rental car on a repair that should not take more than 2 days. Everyone who owns a car needs insurance. Insurance rates are calculated based on the cost the insured drivers occur during the time of a year. A large number of catastrophic events usually leads to increased rates. A large number of accidents leads to higher rates. Unexpected expenses like an unnecessary extended car rental that an insurance needs to pay for leads to increased insurance rates. It is also bad business practice to take on more work than you can actually complete. As a customer I have the choice who I give my business to. I had already decided to give ABRA my business, but this kind of business practice really turns me off.
I give my business to companies who treat me with respect. I give my business to companies who do great work. I do give my business to companies who make good efforts to get the job done. Nobody expects a body shop to be on the minute as there can always be hidden damages to car that only show up during repair. As mentioned I would have accepted a 5 business day repair job, but 10 days is way beyond reasonable and for me really shows bad business practice. ABRA in Highlands Ranch really has me disappointed. No matter how good the repair work might be – customer service is part of the deal and that’s where they failed.
